This 2004 Chrysler Crossfire is a sleek 2-seat premium sport coupe based on the Mercedes-Benz SLK platform. This model was introduced as a replacement for the Prowler, though the Crossfire is much more refined and far more practical. It is somewhat rare and has a unique design that still looks fresh today.
This example has 62k miles and is in nice overall condition with a clean Autocheck report. It is finished in Graphite Metallic which really looks sharp on this body style with its grooved hood and boat-tail rear. A Crossfire highlight is the automatic rear spoiler that extends above 60 mph, though it can also be operated manually or disabled. The aluminum wheels (18” front, 19” rear) contrast nicely with the paint color. The Firestone Firehawk tires are one year old, the battery is brand new, and the oil was just changed. The car is ready to go!
The drivetrain consists of an all-aluminum 3.2L V6 coupled to the optional 5-speed automatic / AutoStick transmission with Standard and Winter settings. The Crossfire’s body is quite rigid, lending to a tight feel and great cornering while still offering a comfortable ride for a sport coupe. The strong 4-wheel ABS disc brakes have 11.9” rotors in front and 10.9” in back. The car also provides traction control and stability control.
The two-tone Slate Gray leather interior is a nice complement to the exterior. The dash has a very clean and functional layout. Features include dual zone temperature control, heated seats, and a telescoping steering column. There is also a 240W Infinity sound system with six speakers and a subwoofer. You also get a decent sized storage area under the rear hatch.
This Crossfire is in very good overall condition. It includes two keyfobs along with the original window sticker showing $35,755 – a pretty healthy figure in 2004 (which may also explain why you don’t see them too often). For a fraction of that original price you can own this enjoyable sports car that can still be driven every day. Why not go for something a little different?
