For Sale: 1975 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40 in China Spring, Texas

Vehicle Description

Left drive made at the Honsya factory in Japan, factory code A-11, per the plate picture. I was told the original owner was in the military and stationed overseas when the vehicle was purchased originally. I'm the third owner of this FJ, the second owner is a buddy of mine, and he knows the first owner... point being that there is potential to get the entire lineage of this vehicle which is also rare. This FJ has 43,390 miles on the original 2F motor and transmission. 2nd owner had the motor diagnostics run before selling to me 3 years ago, it's in great shape, no issues and runs like it. I hate to sell it, i had intentions of restoring this FJ to original but got cancer and my extra money now goes to medical bills. Anyways, the FJ comes with the original doors, original ambulance doors, original top, all of which have the original glass in them. All iv'e done to the vehicle is the lift (skyjacker), wheels (American Racing) and tires (Toyo Open Country 33x12.50 with less than 100 miles on them), and exhaust. 2nd owner made some cosmetic restorations (interior) and had the original carb rebuilt, also had power steering put in. Things i know that are of note and would have liked to have remedied as I was working on it.. there is a rust spot in the bed that needs to be grinned out and fixed, i captured that in a photo. There is a very minor crack on the passenger side rear quarter panel, again captured in photo. There is a crack in the diver side fender (photo) the top is missing one of the body pins that seats into the side panel, so to make it road worthy you'll need to have one welded onto the top. There is a small hole under the windshield that needs to be filled in before paint. Lastly, the diamond plate is attributable to the rear fender wells being rusted out as is seen on many FJs this old. I also have a bikini top for the summer that goes with the vehicle, and oddly i have an extra rear axle that will go with the vehicle. no, it's never been wheeled, and the axles have never been broken, when we had the lift put on we had a wheel wobble that we thought was attributed to an axle and it was not. I never returned the axle to SOR because, quite frankly, it was a pain in the ass to ship it back. Think i may have a bearing kit that goes with that axle as well and if so  it will go with it. i also have the original wheels, or what i believe to be the original wheels with spare.. they go with the vehicle. Also, i have all the original locking mechanisms for the interior of the doors as well as the original door handles. Have some, not all of the original connecting hardware.

Everything is operational mechanically except the oil gauge and the cigarette lighter.

Like I said I hate to sell it, love this FJ, wife and i had grand plans fro fixing it up (she wanted white diamond quilted seats in.. yeah..) but MD Andersen wants my money so I guess I better comply.  If you're interesting in purchasing an FJ this will make a great renovation project for someone because of the original nature of this thing. Thanks for giving a look a please contact if you're serious about making a purchase. Thanks, L
