Vehicle Description
This 1963 Ford Falcon Futura Convertible is not just a shining red
classic convertible offered at a value price. When you look under
the hood, you'll discover a huge upgrade to a performance 351 SVO
V8 and all the right components to support it. Oh yes, this is
serious attraction and muscle that's all within easy reach.
This Falcon is a bit of a meaner bird than many of the rest out
there, and it shows that Ford set this up for a nice performance
car look from the beginning. The hint of a hood scoop up front and
afterburner-style taillights are quite sporty. And the
factory-correct Rangoon Red is always a nice way to look ready for
performance. Plus, the Futura's side trim is like an arrow pointing
this car forward. It combines with the upgraded forward-leaning
stance for a very speedy look even when parked. That black insert
in the trim also goes nicely with the black folding roof and
upgraded 17-inch US Mags alloys for a well-coordinated dark
side.
If you like the way this one looks with the roof in place, with the
flip of a switch, it powers down to reveal a full black interior.
So you get a nice color coordination inside and out, which is
always preferable in a droptop. This is a nice place to spend some
time with the newer seat covers, upgraded carpeting (w/Falcon
script in red on the floor mats,) and even an AM/FM/CD stereo for
upgraded driving tunes. But what you'll really love are the
driver-oriented features, like the Lecarra sports steering wheel,
ratchet floor shifter for the three-speed automatic, and full
AutoMeter Sport-Comp Ultra Lite auxiliary gauge package, including
a large column-mounted tach.
This is the kind of motor that you're going to want to display. So
they made sure to make it look ready for primetime with Ford Racing
valve covers, a bright air topper, and an overall tidy setup. But
more than just look outstanding, this V8 is also a true powerhouse.
It's a 351 cubic-inch V8 From SVO (Ford's Special Vehicle
Operations.) It has aluminum heads, an upgraded intake, and topped
with a Holley four-barrel carburetor. Plus, this has the right
supporting components, like the March pulley system, MSD ignition,
Optima red top battery, and BeCool aluminum radiator with electric
fans. The Hooker Competition headers add even more power while also
contributing to the sweet sound of the dual exhaust. And as you
look over the rest of the photos, you're going to spot more
upgrades, like rack & pinion power steering, power brakes w/discs
up front, and an upgraded tubular control arm front end.
This Falcon Futura offers style and speed for quite a nice price.
