Once in a lifetime find! 21,000 actual miles, 2 owners. An
unrestored original survivor that could compete against a restored
show car. The car feels and functions amazingly good. 1st owner
until 2014 with 18,000 miles. 2nd owner serviced the car and very
carefully enjoyed about 3,000 miles.
EXTERIOR: It is absolutely incredible that this car is original and
looks as good as it does. The factory tuxedo black paint will still
hold it's own in any car show. Only minor imperfections if you look
for them. The body is absolutely rust free, accident free and
straight. All the panels fit square and flush. The doors click shut
even with the windows up, which by the way the windows roll up and
down so effortlessly. The trim is also outstanding original
condition. It's all straight, beautiful, shiny, not banged up. Has
the original antenna. The vent window pillars are smooth and shiny,
the trim on top of the doors and down the sides are mint. Has the
cross flag emblems which let's people know there is a 327 under the
hood. Really, all the trim on this car is a 9 out of a 10. Original
glass us crystal clear. Jambs are clean, original weatherstrips are
still soft with a few little cracks. Tires were replaced with
reproduction BFG Silvertowns. The spinner wire hubcaps are
pristine. Has four original T-3 headlights.
INTERIOR: The red against the black is unbeatable. It is actually
almost unbelievable, this interior is pristine. It could be
packaged and sold as new. Not just the upholstery and carpet but
all the trim and details too. Even up under the dash is excellent.
Every piece of bright work is mint. Dash area is like new. Has
optional tachometer and padded dash. The console is perfect, even
inside it. Door panels, headliner, visors are excellent. Has a
retro stereo in the factory hole. Interior lights all work. Seat
springs still feel good. Has deluxe seatbelts. From carpet to
headliner it is like new.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: It has it's original numbers match 327-300 hp
which comes with a 4-barrel carb. It runs as smooth as a mouse in
slippers. It's been carefully repainted Chevy orange. All original
components- glass fuel bowl, air cleaner, manifolds etc. Still has
the original glass bottle for the washer fluid. Has reproduction GM
hoses and clamps. Also has reproduction Delco battery with spring
clamp battery cables. Still has assembly line crayon markings on
firewall and under the hood it says SS.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Original, not resprayed spatter finish paint in
excellent shape. Also original dated mats. The spare is an original
tire, has complete jack assembly.
UNDERSIDE: 100% solid original metal. The lower rockers, inner 1/4s
are clean, still has rubber drain flaps. The front end has new
rubber bushings, shocks were replaced. Bottom of the motor is clean
original, has original screw on oil canister. The vin # matched
Muncie 4-speed was serviced. Original coded rear end has 3.08 posi
gears. New dual exhaust runs neatly along the frame. The bottom of
this car is left as original, it is not detailed. There are even
still signs of some assembly line markings.
This is a unicorn, you won't find find an original survivor SS that
is this good. If you sit in the car and drive it 100 feet you will
be convinced. The new owner will be proud. Investment grade
thoroughbred.
I, Jay Grams, take pride in personally writing the descriptions for
virtually every car for about the last 30 years now. A significant
amount of effort goes into fact checking. What I am offering is my
professional impression of the vehicle.
Our salesmen are happy to assist with descriptions and making sure
your questions are answered. One great suggestion is letting us do
a walk around video that explains the car's condition in
