Vehicle Description
1971 Pontiac GTO
Why This Vehicle is Special
You are going to have fun and look great driving this really pretty
1971 Pontiac GTO we have for sale here at Skyway Classics.
Our genuine 1971 Pontiac GTO, as you can tell from the Vin #242
that all GTO's had that year, has just had a professional paint job
and a new interior done and it looks great.
Mechanical
Our GTO is powered by an the standard GTO engine that was still the
400 cubic inch V8 with 8.2:1 compression ratio and horsepower was
rated at 300 hp SAE gross at 4,800 rpm and torque at 400 lbft at
3,600 rpm. It looks factory stock with all the correct intake,
carb, Pontiac blue painted block, twin-scoop factory air cleaner
with the correct factory decals, and some accessories added like
the long tube exhaust headers and chrome valve covers.
The engine sits in a clean and factory looking engine compartment
and it is backed by a Turbo GM automatic transmission, has Power
Steering and Power Brakes and for 1971, the standard rear-end which
is a10-bolt rear end.
Interior
The interior is all new and fresh and looks great with its twin
bucket seats in matching colors as well as the rear bench seat,
matching door panels, dash pad, and gold carpet. It has a center
console with the automatic floor shifter as well as all the Pontiac
gauges sitting in the engine-turned GTO dash, factory tape player,
and radio.
The steering wheel is factory Pontiac GTO as is almost everything
you see came with this GTO when it was new.
Exterior
This 1971 GTO has had a modest facelift with the new Canyon Copper
Exterior Paint and it looks gorgeous with the factory GTO Judge
stripes, which was a factory option on these GTO's back then. The
paint flows well over the GTO's stylish body including the
wire-mesh grilles, horizontal bumper bars on either side of the
grille opening, more closely spaced headlamps, Ram Air hood with
the dual scoops relocated to the leading edge and the famous
Pontiac Hood Tach, not far above the grille and of course, the
iconic rear wing.
It has had a new door, new trunk, new window rubber, and new rear
tires. Too. It has some shiny chrome 5-spoke mag wheels and
reverberates a nice exhaust rumble thru the twin chrome exhaust
tips on both sides of the rear bumper.
Conclusion
You are definitely going to be the envy of all your car friends
when you drive up with this great looking and flashy Canyon Copper
1971 Pontiac GTO we have for sale here at Skyway Classics.
