With an upgraded A/C interior, upgraded suspension, upgraded V8
power, and a vibrant color combo, this 1940 Ford Deluxe Convertible
Coupe makes quite an impact wherever it goes.
The red paint is what's going to first catch your eye. This was a
quality application, and so it retains a great gloss and depth that
really radiates in the sun light (exactly what you want on a
sunshine-friendly convertible.) They even deleted some trim like
the badging and door handles to make the body look extra-sleek. As
you get closer, you see more details, like the full-length
pinstriping and flame step plates on the running boards. While the
first impression is quite custom, it still has all your favorite
classic brightwork pieces that make a '40 Ford so distinct, like
the sharply-pointed tall grille, chevron taillights, and the
teardrop headlight bezels. Plus, there's added polish that also
hints at this car's performance, like the bright dual exhaust tips
and the modern 16-inch Budnik alloys.
Beneath the black folding roof is a custom gray interior. This was
built with comfort in mind, so not only do you have a nice tweed
cloth (great for open-top sunny days,) but also its exceptionally
plush. There are even fold-down front armrests for individual
space. This is a detail-oriented package for both comfort and
style. You see that best on the dash where the light gray has some
subtle dark gray pinstriping, and the classic knob-style radio is
really a modern retro unit with a digital tuner, cassette, and CD
changer connection. Plus, it's great to have cold-blowing air
conditioning to make this a car you'll love in the summer, and the
controls are nicely hidden away in the glovebox. There are more
great modern features, like cruise control and provisions for power
windows. The Budnik sports steering wheel has a classic style and
the gray grip coordinates with the rest of the interior. It's
mounted on a tilt column so that you can get a clear view to the
full VDO gauge package.
Grab your sunglasses before opening the hood. The Chevy 350 V8 has
been given plenty of shine with the air topper, compressor,
alternator, pulleys, aluminum radiator, and plenty of other
components given a polish. And don't you love how those bright
valve covers have the Ford V8 logo? Beyond the flash, you'll find
the substance of a performance-built motor. It has been enhanced
with an Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor, Edelbrock intake, Mallory
ignition & distributor, and shorty headers. Plus, this V8 has an
upgraded cam that gives this one power, as well as a terrific
performance tune from the Flowmaster dual exhaust. And make sure
you follow those exhaust pipes in the undercarriage photos. There
you'll see a clean presentation that also highlights the upgraded
frame and upgraded front suspension. And with a smooth-shifting
three-speed automatic transmission, power steering, and front disc
brakes, this one is ready to be your favorite cruiser.
This is a thoughtful build that was made to be impressive, fun, and
comfy all at once. That's what a lot of us want in a driver's
classic, so don't miss this Forty Ford. Call now!
