Vehicle Description
This 1970 Buick GS 455 Restomod is so freshly restored with less
than 100 miles shown on the new odometer. And they really did this
muscle machine right with awesome paint, a custom A/C interior, and
seriously upgraded suspension. Plus, the numbers-matching 455ci V8
has bene given a performance rebuild, including fuel injection.
The Emerald Green Metallic seems to represents this car perfectly.
After all, they loved green in the 1970s, but this is a modern and
sleek application worthy of this fresh restomod. And it's far more
than just the paint that signals this is an upgraded machine. The
form-fitting bumpers have a pewter finish so that they coordinate
with the modern Boyd Coddington wheels. And there are more great
upgraded details, including the carbon fiber headlight bezels. It
creates a total package of instant distinction. But as much as this
is a custom build, it also doesn't lose all the best sporty
features of the GS. The functional hood scoops, hood pins, and that
rear wing lets everyone know this Buick is no doctor's house call
machine.
The idea behind a Buick GS is to mix muscle with Buick's reputation
for luxury, and that was taken to the next level during the
restoration. It's a fresh leather interior with upgraded front
bucket seat that offer terrific modern bolstering. There are nice
vintage elements, like the sports steering wheel and center console
with horseshoe shifter. But what will really impress are all the
modern upgrades. This has a push-button start, power locks, keyless
entry/alarm, an AM/FM stereo with Bluetooth, and cold-blowing R134a
air conditioning. And you get to choose how it's all presented
thanks to the multi-color lighting under the dash. There's even a
Phantom rear view camera! And of course, on a muscle car like this
there are upgraded performance pieces, like the stainless pedals
and full Shark gauge package, including large speedo and tach.
This wouldn't be a true 455 GS without the correct monster V8 in a
glowing Dante red block. In fact, this is the numbers-matching
motor for the car. But the really impressive parts are all the
upgrades during restoration. Bright components, tidy wires, and
those cast Buick valve covers make this one look awesome. This 455
cubic-inch V8 has been upgraded to a FiTech fuel injection system
that adds both performance and consistency. The mighty V8 inhales
deeply with the proper ram air hood, and it exhales with added
power and authority as heat-wrapped long tube headers feed the
rumbling dual exhaust. And this big power motor connects to a stout
TH400 three-speed automatic transmission with a shift kit. As you
look at the undercarriage photos, you see more great investments,
like the upgraded front suspension with extra thick sway bar and a
tubular trailing arm rear suspension by Massive Speed Systems.
Plus, there are more worthwhile driving upgrades like power
steering, grippy modern tires, and four-wheel power disc brakes
with drilled & slotted rotors.
