This is a 1967 Jaguar XKE Roadster series 1 that has been extensively restored and comes with a detailed ownership and restoration history. The heritage certificate that comes with the car confirms that it is all matching numbers, in its original colors and is one of the last true series 1 cars with covered headlights. The previous owner had the car for 44 years, from June 1976 to 2020, and only parted with it as a result of his age and health. His detailed account and records indicate that when he purchased the car in 1976 it had only covered 32k miles. He used the car in the summers only and stored it in the winters. It was serviced regularly. In 1980/81 at 52k miles the bodywork was refurbished, the car was repainted, the engine was rebuilt (.030 over bore), and the suspension and brakes were all serviced. More recently the car was completely dismantled and fully rebuilt. The extent of the work and care taken is demonstrated by the very detailed photographic record that comes with the car. This process was only completed in 2019. Where possible original components were refurbished, but items such as the hydraulics and bushings, mounts and fasteners are all new. The cylinder head was refurbished and the final drive unit was completely rebuilt. The gauges were all dismantled inspected cleaned and resealed, as were all switches, motors, relays and harnesses. Everything works even the clock. Any replacement parts including body panels were properly sourced (with doorskins etc from Martin Robey in the UK). The entire car was brought to bare metal inside and out, etched and epoxy primed. Most of the exterior chrome was re-plated or replaced. 5 new Dayton wheels, spinners, and Vredestien tires were fitted. A full new interior from specialists British Auto Specialists was installed. Some minor drivability modifications were undertaken to make this car drive as well as it shows: Lumenition electronic ignition (which retains the factory distributor) a high volume cooling fan, Weyland air filters, Koni shocks and a full stainless steel exhaust system.
