1963 Buick Red Riviera
Why This Vehicle is Special
The 1963 Buick Riviera 2 Door Sports Coupe we have here at Skyway
Classics is hot red with a beautiful black leather and woodgrain
trim interior. This is a highly optioned Buick with the rare 445
Nail Head engine. The car has a 1965 Riviera front-end on a 1963
body that the owner added during the restoration. The car is titled
as a 1963.
Mechanical
Our Buick is a rare one with the big 445 Buick engine that was a
401 cubic inch with 325 horsepower @ 4400 rpm and torque of 445
lbs.-ft. @ 2800 rpm. It was a real high performance engine in its
day with a compression ratio of 10.25 to 1 and a Rochester 4GC
Carburetor that features the chrome valve covers, correct red
painted air cleaner, power steering and brakes, air condition, and
it all sits in a factory looking highly detailed engine
compartment.
Interior
Only the 1963 Rivieras had leather seating and ours has it and all
the other features and options like, tilt steering wheel, cruise
control, an AM/FM radio, wood trim, Soft-Ray glass, black carpet
and polished door sill plates.
The styling of the dash and shifter area brings out the luxury feel
while cruising down the street in this sharp car. The factory put
in a lot of gauges in the great dash with a center console housing
the floor shifter and makes for a very sporty luxury car
interior.
Exterior
The Buick has a nice red paint job with very straight body lines
and door seams, great chrome and emblems, and rides on correct
white wall tires and factory 5-spoke wheels, with exhaust flowing
out the correct exhaust system.
Conclusion
This 1963 Buick Riviera 2 Door Sports Coupe we have here at Skyway
Classics is a rare and looks as much as a sporty luxury car today
as it did back when it was new.
