1970 International Harvester Pickup in Deep River, Connecticut

Vehicle Description

1970 International Harvester 1100D 4x4 Bonus Load

This truck was purchased new in Presque Isle, Maine and stayed in ME for most of it's life, working on a potato farm in Aroostook County... The potato season is from roughly April to September in ME and this is when this truck was primarily driven, avoiding most of the salty winter months. The 58,178 miles are actual and accurate based on the numerous service tags taped throughout the inside of the vehicle. This truck has original paint, original engine & running gear and interior and is in very good condition.

From ME the truck moved to NH for a short time and was brought to the huge Carlisle Car Show in PA a couple of years ago where it was purchased by the current owner.

He used it locally for some Christmas tree hauling and in a parade or two as well, but hasn't driven her enough to justify keeping her in the garage.

The IH 304 V8 has a stock Holley sourced 2 bbl carburetor and produces a net 180 HP, that runs out through a stock IH 4 speed manual transmission and a divorced NP202 transfer case. That splits the power to the front and rear Dana 44 differentials. The rear diff is equipped with an International Powr-Lok.

The current owner has had the carb rebuilt, put new tires on her and an alternator.

The truck starts and runs great and drives just like an early 70's truck.

There is distinct evidence of the work this truck has done in it's life in the numerous small chips and rubs throughout the bed, however, the rest of the paint is in great shape with only minimal blemishes. The interior is in great shape as well, a couple of small tears/holes from driver entering and exiting.

In terms of rust, the frame is totally solid and the body is in very good shape too. There are two spots in the bed, behind each wheel well and another small spot on the driver floor. These are not rotted through but do present as needing repair.

This truck has 4 wheel drum brakes, non-power; non-power steering, non-power bench seat, non-power windows and door locks. The AM/FM radio is power.

This truck also has the "Bonus Load" option which affords the truck a GVW of 5600 lbs as opposed to 4800 base trim.

She's darn close to a show truck but her survivor traits would keep her out of most concours unless they offered a preservation class. As a vehicle that would range in the #3 area, it is priced at a negotiable $16,500.

Any questions, for many more photos and video, to schedule a time to see it in person, or to make an offer, please don't hesitate to contact me.

Thanks for the interest
