BODY OVERVIEW: Black paint reveals all flaws, and the body on this
1990 Chevrolet 454SS is clean and straight! Having seen fastidious
care over the years, flaws are at an extreme minimum.
PAINT CONDITION OVERVIEW: GM trucks of the early 1990s had issues
with clear coat separation, even when receiving optimal care, so it
is no surprise that this truck has been repainted! Despite showing
some minor signs of use, the repaint appears to be of good quality,
and holds a deep, slick shine. The smoked tail lights give it that
mild custom look, while the high dollar RETRAX aluminum-slatted
retractable bed cover really completes the sport truck look.
Color-matched black diamond plate bed rail covers protect
high-visibility areas from damage, and a spray in bedliner both
keeps the bed looking clean while making it rugged. Finished off
with a color-matched rear roll pan, a cowl induction hood, and
smoked window vent visors, the exterior of this 454SS really has it
going on!
INTERIOR CONDITION OVERVIEW: The dark red interior is a fantastic
contrast to the exterior color, and really brings you back to that
era of trucks. The interior is in nice, ready to cruise condition
and is in fantastic condition for the age! The dash is free of
cracks, the seats show very minimal signs of wear, and many of the
interior components have retained their original color. Plus the
A/C is cold and the heat is hot! All of the audio components
including the Kenwood stereo were professionally installed and the
system in this truck really sounds great! You can't beat having
crisp, powerful tunes while cruising.
MECHANICAL OVERVIEW: Under the hood is what is believed to be the
original 454 engine. The 454 is stock and has not been upgraded
beyond a set of tasteful valve covers. It runs like it was new, and
sounds fantastic! The exhaust has a great note to it, but it
doesn't drone and you won't wake your neighbors up in the morning
when you fire it up. The 454 in this truck is more than adequate in
its factory configuration, and this thing is a blast to drive! The
wheels are US Mags Hustlers and they absolutely set this truck off.
With a 3/5 lowering kit in place, 22" wheels on the rear, and 20"
wheels on the front, this 454SS is sitting right. With the width of
the rear tires, this thing really grips!
WHAT YOU'LL LOVE ABOUT THIS CAR: How well it drives, and how much
fun it is to drive! Plus the sound system is killer. It also comes
with a stack of service records, the original dealer badge, window
sticker, plastic emergency keys, and loan paperwork from 1990!
WHAT YOU MIGHT HATE ABOUT THIS CAR: Given the uniqueness of these
trucks, if you're a stickler for originality this may not be for
you. All of the modifications are easily reversible though!
