Vehicle Description
You might have military-grade hardware for your phone of your
clothes, but it ain't got nothing on military-grade toughness for
the road (and beyond.) That's why you know you need this 1987 AM
General M998 HMMWV Humvee.
Outfitted in full camouflage, this one doesn't waste its time
trying to look domesticated. It's a big go-anywhere brute, and it
has all the right equipment for it. A fold-up steel brush guard,
real beadlock wheels, and HD tow hooks front and rear are the kind
of serious pieces that some people can't even mount to their lesser
4x4s. So this doesn't just look like its ready to transport the
General, but also it has the equipment to be everyone's superior
out on the trail.
We love that the full folding soft top and removable doors were
finished in the same camo pattern as the body, because it gives
this one added distinction when fully buttoned up. But since a
Hummer can get you deeper into nature, it's also nice to have one
that's fully open to nature. Everyone gets an individual seat and
room for plenty of gear in-between. The front buckets were even
recently recovered in a durable and weather resistant cloth. In
fact, the full instrument panel is made hardy, so you never have to
worry about leaving this one with the top off. When you do get deep
into the woods, there's as much room in the bed as just about any
pickup truck, so you can bring all the great outdoors home with
you, too.
Tilt the hood forward to get an excellent view of the 6.2-liter
diesel engine. And because this is a variation of the motor that GM
has used for decades, parts availability will continue to be quite
good without having to set foot on a military base. Diesels are all
about torque, and so it makes for a powerful package. We won't
pretend you'll win any drag races, but that's never the point of
owning a Humvee. This is a true 4x4 with a reinforced fully
independent suspension that has been built to drive over any
obstacle. The high air intake means even deep water doesn't stop
you. Plus, with a three-speed automatic transmission, power
steering, and four-wheel power disc brakes, it's easier than you
may think to enjoy one of the toughest pieces of military hardware
available.
For the price of a classic Jeep you can get its military successor.
So if you've found the limits of other 4x4s when going off-road,
you know this Humvee is going to take you to new heights. This
vehicle was manufactured for the military and issued a non-standard
VIN. Call now!
