This is a very nicely equipped 40th Anniversary Corvette Coupe. We have the original window sticker that lists all of the equipment and options. When new, the MSRP was right at $40,000.
Now that the car is 27 years old and has 103,674 adult-driven miles on it, it is priced right at 25% of the new price. Yet, it is in fantastic condition, look wonderful and is truly a blast to drive.
It is completely original. The Ruby Red Metallic paint looks great. There are just a few minor touch-ups that are impossible to see. The Ruby Red Leather interior is in fantastic condition, without a flaw to disclose. The chrome wheels are brilliant and have the appropriate 40th Anniversary center caps. The car performs exceptionally well. It is truly a great car at an entry-level price.
The 300HP injected 350 starts and runs great. There are no signs of abuse, wear or neglect. It does not smoke or leak. The clutch was just replaced, both the master and the slave cylinders. The six speed transmission behaves just as it should. I am telling you, it is a blast to drive! It will set you back in the seat!
There are many great features such as power steering and brakes, power windows and locks, tilt steering, climate control, air conditioning, rear defogger, cruise control, remote dual outside mirrors, remote power hatch release and six-way power seats. This car has the Adjustable Performance and Handling package, independent front suspension, four wheel disc brakes, 5 link rear suspension, halogen fog and head lights. Those shiny chrome wheels are wrapped with Z rated 275/40/17 tires that are in great condition. It has the fancy Bose stereo sound system featuring AM/FM and Cassette.
All features work properly. There is a jack, spare and lug wrench. The original owner’s manual and window sticker are present. Even the ratchet wrench used to remove the roof panel is present. We have both sets of original keys with the ignition keys being computer chipped.
In truth, there is nothing to disclose. While not a new car, this car has only very minimal flaws. It is a lot of fun at an entry level price. You have to feel bad for the original owner who paid $40,000. But feel good for yourself!

Hennessey Performance Engineering wasted no time getting to work on the mid-engine 2020 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray. The Texas tuner added a nitrous oxide system to the recently released sports car, then took it out for a top-speed run and achieved a claimed 205.1 mph. That speed was reached at the Continental Tire Proving Ground in […]
The 2020 Corvette, the first mid-engine model in the marque’s 67-year history, has had a difficult start. First, its release was pushed back due to reported development delays regarding its aluminum spaceframe and electrical architecture. Then, production was delayed at least two months due to a strike by the United Auto Workers. Now, the coronavirus has […]
With the Indianapolis 500 postponed until August because of COVID-19, instead of happening later this month, the Pick of the Day celebrates one of the 15 times that Corvette has served as the official pace car. The 1998 Chevrolet Corvette Indianapolis Pace Car convertible is one of the limited-edition factory replicas of the Indy 500 […]
The 2014 C7 Chevrolet Corvette won the Fiberglass Follies by a front clip over pre-race favorite, the 1990 ZR1. The 1978 Indianapolis 500 pace car, the first Corvette to pace at the famed race, finished third. The race was a figment of the imagination designed to fill a void in the real horse racing scheduled […]

Chevrolet produced only 300 examples of its Corvette sports car for the 1953 model year, and according to the dealer in Phoenix advertising the Pick of the Day on ClassicCars.com, this one, the 87th produced, “is one of the most important extant.” And thus the $249,800 asking price for this 1953 Chevrolet Corvette. According to […]
As if a 1967 Chevrolet Corvette isn’t racy enough, the Pick of the Day boosts it up a notch with a “Grand Sport” replica body kit that emulates the race cars that GM sponsored briefly in the 1960s, as originally envisioned by the legendary Corvette guru Zora Arkus Duntov. This wild-looking roadster is a “street […]
The much-anticipated and now rolling-off-the-assembly-line mid-engine C8 edition of the Chevrolet Corvette is one of those cars considered to be an instant classic. But with the engine now located behind rather than in front of the driver, it should be a good time for even long-time Corvette owners to go back to school. Driving school, […]

But he also grew up with a love of Detroit muscle cars and especially Chevrolet Corvettes. His passion for such muscular machines led to the founding 25 years ago of the Vicari Auction Company, […]
