for sale. The Ford Thunderbird offered here is powered by a 302ci
engine that is mated to an automatic transmission. The Ford
Thunderbird was Ford's first attempt at creating a more economical
car through downsizing.
The exterior is finished in the original grey paint and shows some
wear. The exterior features chrome bumpers and trim that add to the
stylish look of the vehicle. The red cloth paired with leather
interior is in spectacular condition and shows minimal wear. To
accent the red interior, the red dashboard features wood trim
inserts.
The Ford Thunderbird was a large, luxurious halo car that brought
style and features to the Ford range. Traditionally a two-door
personal coupe, the Thunderbird was originally designed as a
response to the Chevrolet Corvette but soon morphed into a cushy
personal luxury car. The car went through numerous changes but
still rang true to the Thunderbird ethos. The 7th generation T-bird
was sold from just 1977 till 1979. It was based on the Ford LTD and
was a bit smaller and more efficient than its predecessor. Sales
were strong and the car sold nearly a million units in three years.
The squarer, sharper styling was a hit and cars flew off the
lot.
