An Elegant Choice for The Ideal "Driver's" 190SL

Destined for the U.S. market and imported through Los Angeles, California, it's believed the Roadster would reside in the state for the remainder of its days under limited ownership and occasional use. Earliest recorded ownership documents Jim Jones of San Luis Obispo, CA through the late 1970's to mid-1980's, when Robert Pittenger of Atascadero, CA took ownership. Mileage on record consistently tracks from 1982 at 11,400mi to its current reading of 31,000. 9501491 would receive a substantial amount of mechanical and cosmetic upkeep throughout Pittenger's care, the bulk of which was performed in the mid-1990s to early 2000s. Although, it appears that the car was frequently upkept and serviced over the last 35 years, only tailing off in more recent years. Copious records dating from 1977-2020 accompany the sale.

9501491 now wears a striking livery of Blue Metallic (DB387) over Black Leather upholstery, Dark Blue carpeting (318) and a Dark Blue Top with tan headliner. Matching 1959 date coded wheels complement, while wearing 5 new 175/80R13 BF Goodrich white walled tires. The cabin's interior is nicely detailed and tidy, with working electrics and safety equipment - while the paint is still very glossy, as is the brightwork. The luggage compartment displays correct gray mats, jack, and 4/59 stamped spare with matching tire. The 190s engine bay is equally kempt and presentable with Solex carburetors, correct equipment, fresh hoses and consumable items. The car's undercarriage is pleasantly preserved in appearance and very solid. An unrestored hardtop, with stand offers the driver three different top options should they choose to install.

Benefiting from a recent 2020 major service and tune-up - the service team DriverSource addressed and installed an OEM lamp switch, ring gear and all new associated shifter components, axle boots, steering wheel, horn button, ring and shifter knob, choke and heater cables, flasher, brake switch and bulbs, transmission mounts, brake master cylinder and fuel level sending unit, R&R starter, new battery, filter and fluids. All records of recent parts and services are included in the car's dossier, as well as numerous 190SL service manuals, parts catalogues, technical books and original parts. An assortment of rarely seen original owner's manuals, cards and booklets are found within the vinyl folio.

Classic Mercedes-Benz styling as the sensible alternative to the untouchable 300SL, we offer this admirable 190SL for worldwide purchase and delivery form our Houston, Texas showroom.
