A wheat farmer in Washington collected Cadillac's ... nearly 100 of them ! Last year at 96 years of age he passed and left the cars to his family.
I just recently acquired this remarkable 1969 Eldorado with just 20,400 miles on the clock from the collection, it had been in a climate controlled building for over 22 years.
The car is finished in Metallic Brown with Tan leather, options include sentinel headlamps and cruise control.
Before starting the car, the spark plugs were removed and a little Marvel Mystery Oil added to the cylinders to soak. Fuel was drained (fortunately the car had less than a gallon of old gasoline in her) and fresh gasoline added. The car was started yesterday (3-16-20) for the first time in a very long time. The car started instantly. A few small repairs will be made to make the car sound again and reliable.
- Up-date. 3/17/20 The needle valve and seat in the carb had stuck- varnished, suggesting a carburator overhual. Finished, the car runs like a champ. After sitting, there are bound to be required repairs. After start up and proper warming of the engine, the heater core (located in the engine bay) began to seep coolant, a new core was fit today. A new battery was installed. We also found that during testing, the alternator was not putting out sufficient voltage and a new one was also fit.
- Up-date. 3/18/20 Drove the car for the first time. Runs great, no leaks, everything functions properly. Transmssion engages drive/reverse and shifts smoothy. Brake pedal feel and modulation feel typical. No steering play. ACC fan speeds and controls seem to function properly. The ACC will switch to AC and cool but , not did not get cold - [partial charge?] Radio functions. Antenna functions, soft close trunk opperation functions. Tires are squared off, a new set has been ordered.
- Up-date 3/21/20. New tires have been mounted and balanced. The car runs and drives wonderfully and is now available for sale.
Airport pick up is available and minutes away. Inspections are welcomed, gladly.
