I bought this car for a few reasons. 1. it looks sharp- colors,
wheels bucket seats etc. 2. Great list of features including a/c,
power steering, power disc brakes, console etc. 3. Quality, it's a
really nice car in and out, top to bottom. Finish and function are
excellent.
Satellite was the top trim level. Only 1,860 convertibles made.
EXTERIOR: Southern car, the body is really clean. I am eyeing up
both sides, it is straight. The paint is a bright red polished to a
smooth gloss. The paint formula is printed out in the glovebox. The
chrome is not new but it is all very bright and straight. The tail
panel trim is very nice, has machine turned inserts. Chrome around
the convertible opening and stainless on top of the doors is real
nice. Original windshield is crystal clear, rubber gasket is soft.
The convertible power top is crisp white. New 17 inch Ridler wheels
on performance tires really add some sizzle.
INTERIOR: Wow, it's really nice. The upholstery is redone in red
and pearl white with the original embossed pattern. Door panels are
redone to match. New chrome armrest bases, handles and cranks are
excellent. New bright red carpet with matching embroidered floor
mats. The Center console is in excellent shape, even in the
compartment is mint. Has factory tachometer. The dash metal is
painted as smooth as the outside. The chrome dash insert looks new
all the way across. The instruments are mint. Has a retro stereo
right in the factory hole. New glovebox liner. There's a screen for
tuning the fuel injection. Has cool looking big chrome a/c vents
under the dash.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Show quality motor compartment. Has the 383 big
block Commando sitting there with an upgraded Sniper fuel injection
system. Original air cleaner has been restored. New power brake
booster and master. It features factory air conditioning which has
been updated to 134a Freon and blows ice cold. It has power
steering too. The metal engine bay is perfectly clean, no signs of
damage or rust. It's all been painted gloss red, has the original
fender tag. Everything on the firewall looks good, wiring is tidy,
washer bottle is hooked up to the squirters. Has insulation under
the hood.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Big trunk, has perfectly solid original metal.
Inside of the quarter panels look clean. It's been spatter painted
in a gray and white paint. Has a new well liner, carpet mat. Has
brand new tire for a spare, it includes the original jack assembly.
New weatherstrip.
UNDERSIDE: Upfront it has a new disc brake conversion. The front
end was rebuilt at the same time- new balljoints, shocks, etc.
Bottom of the motor is clean, starter looks new. 727 Torqueflite
auto looks fresh. U-joints look recent. Has new air shocks in back.
Dual exhaust was replaced. New fuel tank, strap and sending unit.
Wow are the floors clean. The torque boxes, frame rails, inner
rockers and lower 1/4s are clean original metal. It's been cleaned
and painted black.
Exceptionally clean throughout. Really gives me the impression it
is a quality car. I bought it in North Carolina and the owner was
telling me to drive it home, said it is super reliable. It has some
sizzle too!
