1968 FIAT DINO COUPE:
--Grigio Silverstone metallic with Tan leather interior piped in Grey, Grey carpeting, Restored, 2.0 Liter V6 engine, 5-speed manual transmission, 64,000 Kilometers (39,000 Miles) from new, Rare 1 of 384 produced, Collector owned.
The Fiat Dino Coupe was brought to life as a collaboration between Fiat and Ferrari to build a six-cylinder engine for Ferrari to meet the homologation requirements for Formula Two Racing, which called for the production of 500 engines. Fiat agreed to build the all-aluminum V6 2.0-liter engine, re-engineered by Aurelio Lampredi and producing 180 bhp. The design of the Coupe was penned by Giorgetto Giugiaro when working for Italy’s coach building firm Carrozeria Bertone.
Unveiled during the 1967 Geneva Motor Show, the Coupe featured a five-speed manual gearbox, a limited-slip differential and four-wheel disc brakes. It’s 2.0 liter V6 engine supplied excellent performance. It will accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in seven seconds and will continue on to a top speed of 130 mph. When production of the 2.0 liter ceased in 1969, very few made their way stateside. Therefore, the Fiat Dino Coupe is a rare sight in the United States.
This collector owned Dino Coupe has been maintained regardless of use with limited mileage since its full restoration. Complete with Campagnolo wheels, Nardi steering wheel and original tools, this iconic Coupe is comfortable set up exceptionally for both around town and fast cruising. The Dino Coupe is a wonderful vintage “cult classic” sports car and extremely hard to find in this condition. With its fantastic V6 Ferrari engine and elegant Bertone styling, it combines all the passion of a Ferrari with a level of Fiat practicality, making for a perfect weekend driver or Rally entrant. A recent road test attests to the car performing flawlessly in every way and it is ready for immediate use and enjoyment.
