1966 Dodge Charger with Hemi Upgrade
This great example is an original 383 automatic car that has been
redone with a rebuilt 1969 426 HEMI with Dual Quads and a 727
TorqueFlite Transmission with console shifter from the same 69 Hemi
car. The rear end gear is a neck snapping Sure Grip with a 4:10
ratio. The drivability of this great car is enhanced with Power
Steering, Power Front Disc Brakes, Torsion Bar Suspension, Front
Sway Bar, and the Heavy Duty Suspension including springs and
shocks both front and rear. The exhaust note will make your right
foot twitch in anticipation due to the performance tuned duals. It
scurries about on an excellent set of polished aluminum Anson
Sprint Wheels, so true to the age, with 225/55R17 Front- 255/50ZR17
Rear Tires.
The dash sports the factory correct 150 mph Speedometer, in-dash
6000 RPM Tachometer at Eye Level, and full factory gauges including
Oil, Amp, Fuel &Temperature. There is an original Correct Solid
State in-dash Push Button Radio. One of the most unique features of
this short lived design is the immaculate Ebony Black 4 Bucket Seat
Interior with a full Length Console with Center Storage
Compartment, running from the dash to the back of the rear seats.
The steering wheel is an original 3 spoke Wood Grained Steering
Wheel and this one comes with the optional courtesy Light Package
with Console, Glove Box, Backup Lights.
This great Charger was in the possession of an ASE Certified
mechanic for over 20 years and is as nicely a restored vehicle as
you will find. The Red paint is straight, smooth, and glossy while
the interior, which is mostly original other than the front seat
covers is still like new. For anyone wanting the performance of
Hemi without the astronomical cost and some very unique and rare
style act now and enjoy this one.
