Vehicle Description
1966 Tuxedo Black Corvette L36 ConvertibleBeautiful and rare color
combinationTuxedo Black w/Red interior 427/390hp 4-spd. manual
transmission. The '66 Corvette was a milestone for one very
important reason. Actually 427 reasons because this was the year
that this legendary 427 big block was introduced. And for the first
time there were two different flavors; mild or wild! The wild being
the solid lifter L72. But for those of us wanting something a bit
more sedate there was the new hydraulic lifter L36 427 pumping out
390hp. Both were quite capable of forcing you back in your seat
upon spirited acceleration. They just went about it in slightly
different ways. This very sharp example came to us from a client
who's owned it for over 20 years. It's been frame-on restored and
features along with it's very rare and sought after factory color
combination a matching #'s 390HP engine. Other options include the
M-21 close-ratio transmission a 3:70 Posi-traction differential an
AM/FM radio with electric antenna and (repro) knock-off wheels with
Firestone radial tires. The factory documented build date was March
17 1966. All stampings and casting codes on the drive train support
this date as do the rest of the #'s. See attached sheet.Although it
has never been NCRS judged it has won numerous awards at local and
regional car shows. This is a classic that runs and drives as good
as it looks! Visit Corvette Mike online at
