the honor of winning the Fairfield County Concours D'Elegance First
Place Award! An original example with factory drivetrain, along

This particular Chevrolet Fleetline is optioned with the Country
Club Package, fender skirts, spotlights, bumper flares, bumper
guards, and more! Call today for the complete list!
First popularized in the early 1940s, fastback coupes became all
the rage when automobile production resumed after WWII. As a
sub-series of the Fleetmaster full-size line, the Fleetline
re-debuted in 1946 as both a very sleek two-door fastback Aero
Sedan and a four-door sedan Sportmaster. By 1948, the car had
undergone very few changes, most notably a center support pillar in
the grille. The year 1948 proved to be the single highest
production year of Fleetline cars, with some 276,078 produced. Of
which, 211,861 were Aero Sedans. This was 27% of total Chevrolet
production in 1948! Unique to the Aero Sedan was the optional
dealer-installed "Country Club" wood trim. Manufactured by
Engineered Enterprises of Detroit, this was a rare option, most
likely the result of its $149.95 sticker price!
Now available is a 1948 Chevrolet Fleetline Aero Sedan that is
beautifully finished in its correct Oxford Maroon Metallic hood,
fenders and roof, along with correct ash and mahogany wood panels,
that is sure to catch eyes wherever it goes! Equipped with its
original 216.5ci ""Stovebolt"" Inline-6, the car survives today in
magnificent mechanical condition and shows only 43,888 miles (all
indications back this up as original but we do not have enough
evidence to verify.) This classic woodie (woody) for sale includes
all the original features including: 3-speed column-shift manual
transmission, an under-seat heater, window vent shades, outside
rear-view mirrors, fog lights, dual spotlights, pushbutton AM
radio, a fully functional 8-day dash clock, fender skirts,
Firestone Deluxe Champion wide white walls, front and rear bumper
guards, truck guard, fender stone guards, tissue dispenser and
deluxe wheel covers.
We would like to also make special note of the LOF Hi-Test Safety
Plate glass that is date-coded to 1948, as well as, the $20,000 in
receipts that date back to 2010 which indicate an assortment of
expensive rebuilds and replacements. As a result, this classic
Chevrolet features new wheel bearings, torque tube, brake master
cylinder, hood springs, clutch, wiper motor actuator, fuel tank,
rear main seal. The carburetor, rear end and transmission have all
been removed, cleaned and rebuilt. The front and rear suspensions
have been removed, rebuilt as needed and painted before
reinstallation. In order to preserve its excellence, the seats were
covered in plastic until 2010 and despite being 60+ years old, have
survived largely unscathed. From every angle, this Aero Sedan for
sale is strikingly original in its appearance and for this reason,
took home top honors at both AACA and Concours d' Elegance events.
This gorgeous vintage Chevy also received an invitation to
participate in the renowned Amelia Island Concours d' Elegance.
Under new ownership since April 2014, it is no surprise that this
classic has achieved 70 "Best in Class" and "Best of Show" awards
at local shows over the past 5 years. Each being driven to adding
over 6,100 miles to the odometer. To ensure proper care and
preservation, the vehicle has always been regularly serviced, as
well as, properly stored in a climate-controlled facility
throughout the year. This investment-quality woodie (woody) is
being sold in outstanding condition! Whether you are cruising to
the drive-in or heading to the beach, this unique classic woodie
(woody) for sale has been evidently loved by its previous owners
and tends to draw crowds wherever it goes!
