1939 Chevrolet JC Master Pickup Truck

Prior to 1937, the Chevrolet line of Pickup Trucks were limited to a commercial 1/2 ton model and a Heavy Truck rated at 1 1/2 ton. The 1937 model is often noted as the beginning of Chevrolets modern pickup era and saw the introduction of a 3/4 and 1 ton option. Chevrolet began looking at trucks as more than just for commercial purposes and began applying styling traits from their automobile line to the modern pickup.
The 1939 Chevrolet Series JC Master 1/2 ton pickup truck was built on a 113 1/2 inch wheelbase chassis. The "JC" denotes light delivery or 1/2 ton pickup with a short bed. The trucks were re-styled and are considered by many to be the best looking trucks available in that era. The new cab was built wider and functional and built for driver comfort and convenience. The seats were 3" wider allowing three passengers to sit side-by-side.
The truck presented at auction is an exceptional example having benefited from a complete frame-off restoration and long-term ownership. Factory paint colors were applied to the truck and the blue body with black fenders is a striking combination. The chrome grill is a work of art in itself and all chrome on the truck shines bright.
While the restoration was completed 20 years ago, the exceptional quality workmanship continues to show today. The truck has always been garaged and covered. Of special note...there are only 410 miles on the odometer since the restoration. This truck has been to numerous car shows and won trophies most times when entered. It is important to note the truck is always trailered when heading to car shows.
Chevrolet applied the JC designation to it's 1/2 ton line-up for only the 1939 model year. Most of these trucks saw lots of hard use, making the JC and, especially a truck of this quality, quite rare.
