Vehicle Description
This 1966 Chevrolet Caprice coupe reigns supreme with
numbers-matching big block power and a long list of luxury options.
It's the practical family classic cruiser that's also muscle car
ready when it's time to have some real fun.
This first-year Caprice coupe was the start of something very
special. Chevy gave the Caprice name to the top full-size sedan in
'65, and it proved so popular that they decided to add a unique
pillarless coupe the next year (and we all know the hardtops are
the coolest coupes to come out of the '60s.) The squared-off
roofline is unique to the Caprice, and it looks quite regal. Then
again, everything is going to look good on a car with such nice
sheetmetal. Plus, the factory-correct Lemonwood Yellow paint
represents the decade perfectly. Being the top-level Chevrolet also
meant not skipping out on chrome anywhere. Caprices have a special
grille, and this one is mirror-like. And you can tell there has
been a nice investment in the wraparound bumpers both front and
rear. But there's much more to this coupe than just its classic
presentation. The callouts on the fenders and the shining American
Racing modern alloys let everyone know that this coupe is meant for
more than just cruising.
The black interior showcases the coupe's dual luxury and
performance attitude. It starts with a premium button-top
presentation on both rows of seats that are padded for extra
comfort. So there are plenty of family and friends who will feel
comfy in this full-size coupe. The dual-spoke steering wheel and
wood-like trim on the dash remind you this is a classic. But then
you also have an upgraded full gauge package and retro-style AM/FM
stereo w/Bluetooth that reminds you they have made the right
investments in this one. And as Chevy's premium machine, we know
you'll love the power windows. They mean you never have to leave
the driver's seat to roll down all the windows and show off the
pillarless hardtop profile. There are even provisions for air
conditioning so you can enjoy this experience in the summertime, if
desired.
One look under the hood, and you know those fender callouts were
not lying. The dark engine bay funnels all your attention to the
bold big block in the middle. And as you look at the belts, wires,
hoses, and all the other details, it's apparent there was a nice
investment here to make sure the motor was well-maintained and
ready to showcase. Not only will you love showing off the 396
cubic-inch V8, but you'll also love telling people it's the
numbers-matching motor. The big V8 inhales deeply with a proper
Rochester Quadra-jet carb, and the dual exhaust makes a sweet
sound. The undercarriage has a clean look that should give you
confidence on the road. Plus, you have all the right easy cruising
features, like the TH400 three-speed automatic transmission, power
steering, and power brakes.
These Caprices were the wealthy man's muscle machine when new, but
this loaded example is available right now at an everyman price.
