 1966 Ford GT40 MK1 Street Legal Supercar

Built in 2004 and titled as a California “Special Construction” in 2011. Originally titled in Arizona as a 1966 GT40. Perhaps the most iconic moment in Le Mans history is when Ford finished 1-2-3 in 1966, defeating Ferrari and sealing the GT40's place in history forever

The chief designer of the car Andrew Broadly didn’t have to search far for the blueprints, because he is the son of famed Eric Broadly of Lola who is the designer of the original GT40. This is not a kit car; but a  handcrafted replica of the original GT40 Mk1 (https://sites.google.com/a/wrfl1610.com/gt40na). Extremely correct carbon fiber body, weighing in at only 2,016 lbs makes it incredibly light. It shares much of the same DNA as its racing brothers.

This is probably why GT40 North America Inc. was Awarded Sony Gran Turismo 4 Award for “Best Domestic Automobile” at the 2004 Las Vegas SEMA Trade Show (https://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20041103005378/en/GT40-North-America-Showcase-GT40-Replica-Handcrafted)! Only 20 North American GT40s were ever built.

“It was fantastic to be able to win that,” said Andrew Broadley, one of three coowners of GT40 North America Inc. “In a way, it showed us that what we were doing was right.”

The GT40 Mk.1 was featured at SEMA in the Rousch Performance Engines exhibit booth.
