The 1987 Ford Mustang GT 5.0 Convertible we have at Skyway Classics
is a rare and unique car with the 5.0 engine and underpinnings and
they were fitted with the sporty front fascia from the factory.
Mechanical
Ours has the great 5.0 liter EFI H.O. V8 engine under the hood that
had great horsepower and performance straight from the factory but
it also has a couple add-ons like the cold air K&N air filter
Induction system and the Super Chips computer performance system
too.
It delivers great performance but also looks stock and in a clean
and detailed engine compartment and even has the rubber boot over
the distributor intact.
Backing up the 5.0 engine is a 5-speed manual, which feeds a set of
3.08 gears in the Track-Lok 8.8-inch rear end, and puts the power
to the ground with 15-inch stock wheels and black wall performance
tires.
Interior
The grey vinyl interior looks good with the carpeting and twin
bucket seats, as well as black floor mats, great dash with white
gauges, A/C system, center console, power windows and locks, cruise
control, interval wipers, AM/FM, and a black power top and glass
rear window.
Exterior
Our 5-speed GT convertible is painted Red and the original finish
has held up well with a great body fitment, black rubber parts,
window sills, a trunk-mounted luggage rack, trim and bumpers.
