Introduced to dealers on September 12, 1966 for the 1967 model, was the first generation Chevy Camaro. 1969 was the final year of the first-gen Camaro and not surprisingly it was a record year with more than 243,000 Camaro leaving GM’s plants.
Combining the best of yesterday, with the best of today and tomorrow, this 1969 Camaro Super Sport, with its 502 cubic inch v8, Detroit Speed suspension, and upgraded interior, was built for the muscle car fan who wants the absolute best. This slick Super Sport received a frame-off restoration that gives it an athletic appearance highlighted by breathtaking black urethane. Take a step closer to the car’s mirror-like paint and you’ll find flat surfaces that are a product of both rust-free original sheet metal and high-quality replacement panels. At the front of the Camaro, a chrome-trimmed grille hands modern H4 headlights above a body-matched bumper, crystal clear parking lamps and a traditional D80 chin spoiler. Toss the hood open and you’ll come across the 502 cubic inch, 502 horsepower GM Performance monster block wedged inside a clean engine bay. Straight from GM, this beefy package gives you an unmatched throttle response. The engine is mated to a 4-speed gearbox, which was programmed by the experts at Mild to Wild Transmissions in New Port Rickey, Florida. Keeping the Camaro planted is a complete Detroit Speed Engineering suspension that’s fitted with Baer power-assisted calipers and large drilled and slotted rotors. Finishing the exterior appearance, the Super Sport is sitting on a set of Budnik Muron III wheels mounted to Nitto Extreme radials. The exhaust flows from the Hooker long-tube headers out to the Flowmaster mufflers. And the car’s solid floors feature an array of finishing components that include a new stainless fuel tank, Russell plumbing, a Holley fuel pump, and a big Moroso oil pan. Open the Super Sports doors to a completely restored interior conveying a clean but vintage appearance. This amazing Camaro looks absolutely predatory and will likely attract a ton of attention wherever it goes.
