Garage Kept Motors.) At the time of the introduction of the 993
Turbo, Porsche began printing a new ad for the new 993 Turbo that
said, Kills Bugs Fast. Surely that is possible in a 993 Turbo,
although it's not the best look for the front bumper or hood on the
cars. Not only will it kill bugs fast, this car is definitely very
capable of accelerating fast, which is sure to put a smile on your
face fast - good thing there's a windshield between you and the
elements, or you may end up with bugs in your teeth. This 993 Turbo
is finished in the iconic color of Guards Red. (Or Inidischrot,
code L80K) Like the classic 911 Turbo widowmakers, this car's
curves are pleasing to the eyes. The rear spoiler is reminiscent of
the original whale tails, and much like the Fuchs wheels, the
'Turbo Twist' wheels on this car really compliment the overall look
of this gorgeous Turbo. The exterior is in great condition overall
- a clear bra covers the front end, the fog lights and turn signals
are not cracked, and the front and rear bumper rubber 'bumperettes'
are not dry or cracked. Inside the car is the familiar interior
layout of the 911 line. Five gauges, sport seats, leather wrapped
steering wheel, and a shift knob close at hand. Finished in Classic
Grey (code TF) the interior is quite simple. There aren't a bunch
of extras or frills, other than hard-backed Porsche sport seats.
Otherwise the interior is just a great place to be while in control
of this 408 horsepower bahn burner. Motor Trend described the 993
Turbo as the most brutally accelerating, best handling, best
braking Porsche ever sold in the US. Porsches have certainly come a
long way since 1996 as far as technology. But a 400 horsepower,
6-speed manual 911 capable of a sub 4-second 0-60 time, low 12
second ¼ mile time, and a 0-100-0 time of 13 seconds flat is
extremely impressive. We can imagine that before getting to the
'smile on your face' stage that it could be a look of surprise or
concern at first, as you learn what this little car is capable of.
Speaking of the performance of this car, the boot holds a 3.6 Liter
flat-6 with a pair of KKK 50mm Turbos strapped to it. All of that
is hidden beneath two large air to air intercoolers. Gear selection
is handled by a 6-speed manual. Suspension components are Turbo
specific rather than standard 911 units. This includes stiffer
springs, a 22mm anti roll bar, and upgraded shocks. Hollow spoke 18
'Turbo Twist' wheels wrapped in 305 series tires in the rear do
their best to handle the power that the engine puts out, and
transfer it to the ground. No launch control, or advanced computer
controlled traction control system here, just raw power that the
driver does their best to control. A number of history and records
are available for the car showing progression of mileage, and past
maintenance. Whether 'killing bugs fast', or putting a smile on
your face with its acceleration abilities and good looks, this 993
Turbo is a future collector car that would look great in your
garage. Be sure to check out all the photos and video on our main
