For Sale: 1969 Cadillac DeVille in Solon, Ohio

Vehicle Description

In the late 40s, Cadillac named its new, smaller luxury coupe De Ville after the French derivation de la ville, which means “of the town," since it was intended to be used and driven in town.

There were many design changes to the 1968 model.  First and foremost, a new 472 cu in V8 was introduced, adding power and speed to the luxurious design.  Recessed three-speed windshield wipers, molded inner door panels with illuminated reflectors and striking exterior paint colors completed the change.

In 1969, these new standard features were enhanced even more with a restyled design in the image of the Cadillac Eldorado with a new front fender treatment that emphasized a more prominent horizontal line.  The rear quarter panels were also extended to give a longer, sleeker look.  An all-new grille with dual horizontal headlamps and a 2.5-inch expanded hood enhanced the impression of extra length and modern style.  The roofline was squarer, as were the rear deck and bumper.  Even more, the vent window was replaced with a new ventilation system that added to this new longer, sleeker look.

No expense was spared during the body-off restoration of this stunning 1969 Cadillac De Ville convertible started in 2016 and completed in 2017.  Before restoration, it had only 90,220 miles on the odometer and was virtually rust-free, but the owner wanted a "perfect" car.  Every nut and bolt as well as every other component were restored or replaced.  Rather than list every item, we think this amazing antique winning an AACA Senior Award in 2017 tells the story.

After driving the car for less than 1,000 miles since restoration, the last owner was not happy with starting a carbureted car.  So, he replaced the carburetor with a Holley EFI Fuel Injection System, along with larger fuel lines and a sending unit and fuel pump.  He also added a new coil, electronic ignition, plugs and wires, built-in battery maintainer and a Bluetooth stereo system (retaining the original factory radio).  Bills totaling over $9,000 (not including labor) are available, detailing the upgrades.

Also included are a new set of radial tires, and the chrome wire wheel discs are new old stock and in perfect condition.  All gauges are clear and in good working order. The dark Rampur Green metallic exterior with white leather interior complete the stunning look.

This car is perfect. The upgrades take it to a new level, and there is nothing that needs to be done but climb behind the wheel.  In fact, this lovely convertible may be the finest and best-running 1969 Cadillac on the planet.
