1970 CHEVY CHEVELLE SS By Darrell Gwynn This 1970 Chevrolet
Chevelle SS Drag Car was built by legendary race car driver Darrell
Gwynn. Following his near fatal accident, Mr. Gwynn and
professional race team finished what they started with this Pro Mod
Dragster. This vehicle has never been raced or started in it's
current state and was offered as a charity piece to benefit the
Darrell Gwynn Foundation. The engine is a Pro Mod Drag Car 700
Merlin Motor, with an MSD Digital 7 Ignition, Hurst Ratchet Shift,
2 Step Tubular Frame, Kirkey Race Seats, Nitrous Equipped with
parachute braking equipment. The roof and quarter panels are steel.
Before his tragic 1990 accident, Darrell Gwynn won an NHRA World
Championship in 1983 (Top Alcohol Dragster). In 2001, he was voted
one of the NHRA's ''50 Greatest Drivers All-Time'' In 2002, he was
inducted into the prestigious International Drag Racing Hall of
Fame. With over $250,000 invested in its professional build, this
