The AMC Javelin was an American front-engine, rear-wheel-drive,
two-door hardtop automobile manufactured and marketed by American
Motors Corporation.
We have a great updated 1973 AMC Javelin here for sale at Skyway
Classics that was styled by Dick Teague and a real pony car or
muscle car that you should add to your garage.
Mechanical
The engine in our 1973 is a 401 cubic inch V8 that was rated at net
255 horsepower and is backed by an automatic transmission. It is
painted in the correct shade of turquoise as is the factory intake.
It has also received a rebuild and other performance accessories
like the Edelbrock chrome open element air cleaner and chrome valve
covers, performance ignition and distributor, and more and sits in
a very clean and detailed engine compartment.
It also has power steering, power brakes, factory air conditioning,
Dual Exhaust, and rides on BFG Radial TA tires on Cragar chrome
5-spoke mag wheels.
Performance figures conducted by Road Test magazine of a 1973
Javelin with the 401 cu in 4-barrel V8 engine resulted in dragstrip
runs of 15.5 seconds at 91 mph with some tire spin back then.
Interior
The interior of our Javelin has White and black bucket seats front
with a center console and rear that were slimmer, lighter, and more
comfortable design that provided more legroom for rear seat
passengers than the previous years.
It has black carpet, a "mod" wood type dash inlay with all the
correct factory gauges and a Sun Pro tach, an upgraded Sony Stereo
AM/FM unit, and even a stirrup type shifter for the automatic
transmission in the console.
Exterior
The exterior has been repainted in the factory color of Fresh Plum
Metallic /Maroon which looks great on the factory styled body with
new design of the taillights and grille, the AMX grille, and
bumpers with rigid rubber guards.
Our Javelin looks sporty with the factory Rear Window Shade
Louvers, black painted trunk and rear facia, and sounds great too
with the dual exhaust.
Conclusion
The great 1973 AMC Javelin we here for sale at Skyway Classics also
runs & drives great and really is a super piece of AMC muscle car
history you can enjoy and drive for years too.
