This 1969 Oldsmobile 442 Convertible has its numbers-matching V8
under the hood. And while that makes it an awesome classic, the
upgraded paint package and other subtle additions create the kind
of droptop muscle car cruiser you've been dreaming about.
The two-tone is an instant attention-grabber. Black and silver are
a timeless color combo, and this one uses the style of the car to
expertly intertwine the two. For example, the 1969 cars have
full-length trim that run over the body to connect the front and
rear bumpers. This one uses that for a crisp dividing line for the
two colors. The black stripes on the silver hood draw added
attention to the dual power bulges, and the proper 442 fender
triple stripe looks great in sliver. The whole expertly done
package is a newer application, so it has a proper clearcoat luster
in the sunlight (exactly what you want on a sunshine-friendly
convertible.) And of course, this Olds has all the right
factory-style features you love, too, including the form-fitting
chrome bumpers and sporty Super Stock wheels.
The crisp black convertible top fits in with the color theme quite
nicely. And if you like the way this looks, then you love powering
it down to reveal a full black interior. The textured bucket seats,
door panels, and carpeting all have the clean look of quality. The
wood-like paneling on the center console and dash are a great
reminder of the premium feeling you get in an Olds. And this one
loves to keep its vintage flair, right down to the AM radio that's
still cranking out tunes. However, the upgraded three-spoke sports
steering wheel blends in nicely with the interior while remind you
that this a classic built for driving.
Under the hood is a numbers-matching 400 cubic-inch V8 in this
American muscle icon, and so it's presented with plenty of
good-looking flair that doesn't stray from the original style. So
there's fresh golden paint on the block to have it radiate from
within the dark engine bay. And the only thing bolder is the red
442 air topper. In fact, the whole engine bay is nicely detailed,
right down to the fresh-looking GM factory hose with correct clamp.
And while this is a thoughtfully stock package, there are some
sublet upgrades. This includes an Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor
that lets this mighty V8 inhale deeper. As you look underneath,
you'll spot more recent investments, including the front sway bar.
Plus, with the stout TH400 three-speed automatic transmission,
power steering, power brakes with discs up front, and rear sway
bar, this 442 is the ideal mix of vintage power and comfort.
This has the look, pedigree, and power you demand, so don't let
this distinct 442 convertible get in someone else's garage. Call
