1999 35th Anniversary Edition Mustang Convertible
This car was purchased roughly 15 years ago from who is believed to be the first owner of the car.
The second, current, owner of the car has put approximately 30,000 miles on it since then. It currently shows 172,000. The car has been very well cared for and modified a bit by the current owner to make it handle and perform much better than stock. It was primarily a summer driver for his wife.
The 3.8L V6 has been treated to new plugs, high output coil packs, new wires, injectors, BBK cold air intake, new radiator, new starter, new belt, battery and high performance chip/reflash on the ECU. A true dual exhaust has been fitted along with Flowmaster mufflers and chrome tips.
A 66K mile, rebuilt automatic transmission replaced the original slush box about a year ago and the rear diff gears were bumped to 3.73.
From the handling point of view, the car was lowered 2" by using a kit from KYB and includes their struts and shocks. An underhood strut tower brace, front suspension/sub-frame brace and sub-frame connectors were installed along with Konig 18" wheels wrapped with Riken rubber.
On the appearance front, she just rec'd a partial respray (left side fender, door, both quarters and trunk to fix some flaky paint issues), The windshield has been replaced due to the high mileage pitting and it has blacked out headlights and custom taillights.
Although accessorized with many of the GT 35th Anniversary Special Limited Edition items (such as the spoiler, the hood scoop, side scoops,semi-hard convertible boot cover and 35th Anniversary stitching on vinyl seats) this NOT a SPECIAL LIMITED EDITION GT, it is a 35th Anniversary Edition V6 Mustang Convertible, of which just over 19,000 were made.
The interior was redone in vinyl in a pattern similar to a Limited edition interior, an aluminum T shift handle was installed with electronic overdrive switch and a Kenwood touch screen stereo/DVD are in place of the stock stereo system, including new speakers.
Lastly, the white convertible top has just been replaced.
The body is super solid with no rust or rot and there are a couple of small areas of spiderwebbing on the front bumper.
With the aforementioned mods, this car drives very well and moves along rather briskly.
This is an awesome summer cruiser or you could even take her out autocrossing.
Despite her higher mileage, and due to her modifications and being so well taken care of, the asking price on this Mustang is $4900
