Vehicle Description
Motorcar Studio is pleased to offer this 1978 International Scout
Traveler. Finished in its original shade of Concord Blue with a
white stripe and white hard top, this is a sharp truck that never
fails to turn heads. A long-wheelbase version of the popular Scout
II, the Traveler has plenty of extra cargo space behind the rear
seat - perfect for kids, pets, gear, etc. And like the regular
Scout II, the hard top is removable. This is a well-optioned truck
with V8, automatic, power steering, power disk brakes, tilt wheel
and factory A/C.
Paint, body and trim show to a good driver standard with
particularly nice bumpers and grille. Door jambs and interior are
still finished in mostly original paint. Solid floor pans, rockers
and cab supports with no known rust issues. White wagon wheels are
wearing new BF Goodrich 33x12.50 all terrains.
Tidy interior with newer brown carpet and attractive black and
brown houndstooth seat upholstery. Original door panels, dash pad
and steering wheel are showing light patina. All gauges are working
and a modern AM/FM stereo with bluetooth, USB and aux input has
been installed in the dash. Factory A/C still running R12 needs
either a top-up or R134a conversion in order to blow cold. The line
setting ticket and other original factory stickers remain in place
inside the glove box door; original 1978 owner's books are also
present.
Under the hood is a 345 cubic inch V8 mated to a TorqueFlite 727
automatic transmission. Optioned with power steering and power
brakes (front disk), this is a good running and driving Scout. We
believe the indicated mileage of 91k to be original. Recent
maintenance includes a new transmission pan and gasket, valve cover
gaskets, oil change, new carburetor and tune-up. No known service
needs.
