Produced from 1986-1989 and built on the R107 chassis, the 560SL class of cars presented the most powerful SL of the decade.  While maintaining Mercedes luxury, the 5.6L V8 produced 227 horsepower and had a top speed of 140 mph!  The 560 SL maintained its reputation as a powerful, reliable, well-appointed, classically-styled luxury automobile and enjoyed very good sales numbers in the luxury car market.  Though the R107 chassis and body style was retired in 1991, these cars remain popular among car collectors.
