Vehicle Description
This 1969 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible has been carefully
restored for extra flair and fun. That means a well-coordinated
color combo, an upgraded A/C interior, and ZZ3 performance crate
motor paired with a four-speed.
Monza Red is already a terrific color to have on a Stingray, but
this one has a bit more going for it. There's an awesome clearcoat
luster from a modern application and a professional hand applying
it. The shining paint loves to highlight the crisp details of this
well-done body. And the brightwork on the bumpers, rockers, and
Rally wheels all shine from a proper investment. There's a big
reason for this overall level of quality. This car was given a full
restoration about a dozen years ago, and the consignor is also the
restorer, so it has been treated with the craftsman's care and
pride since completion. And because this was a special creation, it
received some cool detail work. The black stripe highlighting the
LT1 hood goes nicely with the black side vents. Plus, this comes
with both a black folding roof and a black hardtop, and so this one
has a nicely coordinated dark side with either roof in place.
And no matter how much we like the look of this one with both of
the tops, a convertible always is best with no roof at all. So it's
great to see the interior also done in a deep black. The while
package is a nice mix of vintage features, and upgraded style. For
example, you still have the factory-style bucket seats, but now
they have been restored in a supple leather. The well-placed stick
shift is waiting for your right hand, and driver-oriented full
gauge package is crisp and correct. And now this experience is
upgraded with a wood and leather sports steering wheel and dual
polished roll hoops for added sporty style and safety. Plus, there
are terrific comfort features, like AM/FM/CD stereo and air
conditioning blowing nice and cold with modern R134a. So you can
really enjoy the top-down experience even in the summertime.
Under the hood is the best upgrade of them all. The ZZ3 crate
engine is a 350 cubic-inch small block that's known for making the
kind of power you got from Chevy big block back when this Stingray
was new. It's ready to show off thanks to plenty of polished
components and a tidy setup. The V8 inhales deeply with a Holley
four-barrel carburetor, and it exhales with authority as
ceramic-coated headers add power while contributing to the rumble
of the dual exhaust. The four-speed manual transmission means you
are in full control of the power and the soundtrack of this
excellent motor. And speaking of control, the fully independent
suspension, power steering, and four-wheel power disc brakes
deliver a classic car that has some very sharp moves.
