This one ton Load Master truck started life on a Nebraska family farm in 1949. It’s jobs over the 40 plus years were a dump truck, a sorghum truck, a water truck and retirement in 1993. Through a friend, I found the discarded truck and had it sent to Florida. It looked like it had been nearly used up. The body was in surprisingly good shape other than a few dents and multiple coats of paint, some applied by brush, all the glass was broken.
The frame had so many modifications over the years that I chose to replace it and the suspension with Chevy Silverado parts. The engine, transmission and rear end are donated from a 1976 Chevy 1 ton truck. The engine is completely rebuilt.
My goal was to bring the truck back to its original looking condition of 1949. The bed is built with ERA correct-looking materials to maintain the authentic look. My true passion is old tractors and I lost interest in the truck, parking it in my tractor shed for a few years. Now I am ready to look for a new project and wish to sell this truck. The interior is incomplete, it needs floor covering and a few moldings replaced and some other small things. It has the 292 Chevy 6 cylinder, 4 speed manual transmission, all new glass, gauges, LT235-85R16 tires, new clutch disc, and pressure plate. Happy to discuss details.
