This extremely low mile AC MKIV was manufactured in November of 1994 by AC Motorcars ltd, Surrey England. It is one of 4 reportedly built for the 1995 model year. The car has 700 original miles ! This is NO KIT or reproduction, Bob Lutz owned one ! ! ! ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bob_Lutz_(businessman)) Its aluminum body was hand crafted with the original tools, jigs and bucks used to produce Shelby's original Cobra's. In a phone conversation with James Sealy (AC's VP at the time this car was produced) Mr. Sealy confirmed that chassis number 003 was the AC stand car for the 1995 Detroit Auto Show. If I understood Mr. Sealy correctly it is the only 1995 AC MKIV that was EPA'd and DOT'd by AC prior to the car being imported making it a truly one off car.
I am not going to attempt to repeat the entire history of AC and how these "continuation" cars came about. Those of you who know what the car is and who would most likely be interested in acquiring the car, also know the companies history and just how rare and exceptionally well built these cars are. The AC MKIV is built far better than anything that came out of Shelby's shop. In all fairness to Shelby however, he was in the business of building race cars. The fit and finish of this car is simply of "Rolls-Royce" quality. Body fit, Wilton wool Carpets and Connolly hides finish the car. The car is sold with its original books, owners manual, window sticker, soft top (never out of the bag) and additional set of knock off center wheel lugs. The car is virtually flawless. It starts, runs and drives perfectly.
The car is equipped with Fords 5.0 HO fuel injected V8 motor mated to a T5 5 speed manual gearbox and IRS rear end. 4 wheel discs brakes slow the car. Wheels are center lock alloys, manufactured by AutoKraft. They are still safety wired and have never been off of the car. The car has 700 miles from new ! This is an extraordinary opportunity.
