1975 Jaguar XJ6 Coupe or XJ6-C
These are fairly rare as they produced less than 3000 of them in the first year of production and only around 6000 in total between mostly 75 and 78.
This car was owned for quite a while by one of the local Jaguar club's members who then traded the car into another member's restoration facility for a newer car. The restoration shop was going to do a full restoration on her but with too many other projects going, this one fell to the way side and they have now decided to sell it. I am assisting in finding this pillarless Cat a new home.
This is a numbers matching car; Engine, trans and body all match the numbers on the engine bay data plate.
The car has about 58,000 miles and was originally white over a red leather interior.
The original engine, which turns over and will run with a gas feed, is the 4.2 litre DOHC straight 6 that made Jaguar famous. There are two replacement tanks that come with the car, they should probably be flushed and coated, a rather easy DIY project.
The body is solid except for the driver floor which is rusty and showing some holes. It will need to be replaced, however, replacement panels are very easy to source. All the glass is in very good shape, however, she will need new window seals as the windows are currently simply sitting in the channel, taped in place.
The interior will probably need the most work, however, there are most of the needed parts included in the assorted boxes. The rear seat may be re-upholsterable...
The car has the usual Jaguar amenities; Power steering, Power brakes, AC, leather interior, intermittent wipers, power windows, telescoping steering wheel and AM/FM radio with multiple speakers.
These car are finally starting to come into their own with values rising roughly 30% over the last two years on them.
In the hands of the right person this lithe cat can be made into either a concours winning piece of mid 70's art or simply set up as a great driver, set to prowl the back country roads again.
