European Motor Studio is very excited to offer this freshly restored 1973 Lamborghini Espada 400GT Series III. Chassis number 9008 is a very early Series III body, delivered new to Righetti in Vicenza Italia on 29th, March 1973. This European spec Espada is finished in a very elegant shade of Blu over Nero leather interior. Making its way to Southern California sometime in the mid to late 1970's and still retaining its original CA blue plate, this Espada was used sparingly until being placed into storage sometime in the late 1990's. European Motor Studio acquired the car in late 2015 with only 59,000 kilometers on the odometer and commissioned a very extensive and thorough restoration to chassis 9008. Starting with a very straight forward and highly original car, Espada 9008 was stripped down to bare metal and stripped of all its interior and mechanical components for a full repaint. The undercarriage and engine compartment were also stripped in the process and re-finished. All of the exterior trim was either replaced or refurbished, all of the chrome and stainless was sent out for re-plating or polishing and all of the black trim was sent out for powder coating. All 5 original Lamborghini 5 lug wheel were powder coated and wrapped in new period Michelin XWX tires. The interior is wrapped in new high quality leather keeping to as close to factory spec as possible. Interior details such as the diamond and circular perforations in the pleated leather were done by hand to keep with the original pattern that is so unique to Espada's. The carpets, headliner and dash flocking were also done to a high standard and kept as close to factory as possible. The matching number factory 4.0 liter 4 cam V12 engine (41031) has been completely rebuilt along with the transmission and differential. All of the front end steering bushings are brand new, the Koni shocks are new, all of the pads, rotors, and calipers have been replaced, new clutch, the radiator, and gas tanks have been sent out for cleaning and boiling, the starter, alternator and water pump have been rebuilt. The 6 Weber carbs have been rebuilt and tuned, all of the seals, hoses and gaskets are all new, all of the electronics have been sorted and everything is working as it should even down to the Becker radio and all of the speakers. This is an outstanding and rare opportunity to acquire a very early Series III Euro spec Espada that has been carefully restored and sorted. Lamborghini built a total of 1219 Espada's over three Series. The 3rd and final Series being the most put together and best driving. Accompanied with the sale of Espada 9008 is the original tool roll even with the original window tool, and factory jack, Espada dealer brochure, owners handbook and CA blue plate.
