Please visit www.Survivor-Cars.com for additional photos,
information and a video. This is a freshly frame-off restored 1955
Chevrolet Bel Air 2-door hardtop with just 297 miles since the
restoration was completed. The body is incredibly straight and is
coated in a deep high gloss Black Cherry Metallic paint that really
glistens in the sunlight. The chrome that these Bel Airs are known
for breaks it up nicely and is all in show quality condition. The
interior is fully restored but left mostly original in appearance.
It has the cloth and vinyl combination on the seats, which have
been reupholstered, new door panels, carpet, Bel Air floor mats and
fresh paint on the dash and trim pieces. The headliner is also new
and features the classy chrome bows. The dash is pure Tri-Five
class with a modern touch in the gauge cluster. These gauges look
great and gives you a lot more information than the factory ones
from 1955. They provide the outside temperature, trip odometer,
average and high speeds and RPMs for your trip, 0-60 and miles
times! Vintage Air controls look right at home in the dash and make
switching from heat to A/C a breeze. The trunk is nicely finished
off with a stock style rubber mat and spare tire. Under the hood is
where the largest changes have happened, and they are all with
comfort and drivability in mind! A Corvette Tuned Port Injected 350
CID V8 engine was rebuilt and paired with a Corvette 4-speed manual
transmission. The power the healthy V8 puts down is sent to a Ford
9" rear end out back with a Currie gear set. This car is built for
highway cruising and has power steering and power disc brakes to
make it even more enjoyable. The front suspension is upgraded with
CCP tubular upper control arms. The dual exhaust has a great note
that lets people know you've got a V8 under the hood, but is far
from obnoxious. The exhaust exits under the rear bumper and is
adorned with chrome tips that have Bel Air emblems in them. There
are nice features like that everywhere you look on this 55 Chevy.
From the red steel wheels with hub caps, the white wall radial
tires, the chrome bumperettes front and rear and the red accents in
the Bel Air trim. This car is beautiful to look at and even better
to drive! If you're looking for a nicely built, well optioned
tri-five Chevy, this Bel Air should be at the top of your list.
