Vehicle Description
Welcome to StreetDreamsTexas as we celebrate our 21st year in the
classic and muscle car business. Here's what we like to call 'the
sure cure for road rage'! Check out this cool 1955 Willys M38A1
decked out for Military Police service. The M38A1 was produced from
1952 to 1971 and saw extensive use during the Korean and Vietnam
wars. This was the first jeep to have the round fender design that
would later become the distinguishing feature on the 1955 civilian
CJ-5 and for decades thereafter on CJ-6, CJ-7, and CJ-8 Jeeps. The
similarities with the CJ series are mostly cosmetic, however, as
the M38A1 has a far more robust frame and suspension system
engineered for the rigors of military service. This four-wheel
drive mountain goat is powered by the correct 134 ci Hurricane I4
which sends power to the correct Borg-Warner T-90 3-speed manual
transmission, then on to the Dana 18 transfer case, and finally out
to the Dana axles (25 F, 44 R). Additional goodies include the
awesome mounted M1919 Browning .30 caliber machine gun (inert), two
.30 cal. ammo cans, jerry can, an M17A1 gas mask, MP helmet liner,
correct and functional Sea-Mite siren, and even an old hemp tow
rope. Another fun detail is the MP book of traffic violations we
found because the ticketed vehicles are '53 Mercury, '54 Chevy, '53
Cadillac, etc. This charming piece of history runs well and has
participated in parades, so reliability isn't a concern. Stockade
and billy clubs not included! Street Dreams (830-997-1950) is a
full service dealership that can assist with worldwide delivery,
insurance, and financing options.
