Vehicle Description

AWESOME 1957 PORSCHE 356 SPEEDSTER REPLICA BY VINTAGE SPEEDSTER...1600 CC, 3.88 FREEWAY FLYER, FRONT DISC BRAKES, ONLY 1 OWNER SINCE NEW...READY TO SHOW AND GO!!!!

Absolutely gorgeous 1957 Porsche 356 Speedster Replica! This beautiful Silver Replica has just 5150 miles, is in amazing condition and runs and drives as good as it looks! That’s correct, I did say Replica, but not just any replica….this speedster was hand built by Vintage Speedsters out of California, one of the original builders of Porsche Speedster Replicas. In fact they had built about 90% of all the Porsche Speedster replicas on the market and their quality and customer service was top notch. They sold the company several years ago. They used a custom built, jog welded 2×4″ 11 gauge steel frame. This rigid new structure retains the original VW floor pan designed by Dr. Ferdinand Porsche and integrates the largest frame possible. In addition the steering wheel is offset slightly just as it was in the original Speedster. While original Speedsters are a rare breed, Vintage Speedster Replicas are rare in their own right with roughly only 3000 built. This will be a great addition to any car guy or gals collection, or perfect for anyone looking for a truly unique sports car investment that can be driven anywhere as well be taken to the car shows and cruise-ins. Most people have no idea that this is not an original worth well over $200k and it will be up to you if you want to reveal the secret when you get stopped everywhere you go. I will do my best to provide you with enough large images, a video of the car running and an honest description to help you decide if this is the one for you. Sit back and enjoy! I am also a transport broker and can assist the buyer with Enclosed Transport anywhere in the US and I welcome overseas buyers as well and can assist in getting the car to the port of your choice.

This particular car was built in 2013 for the gentleman in Oregon who I had the pleasure of buying it from. This was one of the cars on his bucket list and he thoroughly enjoyed it during his 7 years of ownership. If you know the weather in Oregon you know why this car has such low miles. He took it out for fun drives on those Sunny days but mostly it spent its time in his climate controlled garage under a cover. The car was pampered and always properly maintained with oil changes and valve adjustments when needed.  Now in his 70's he realized it was time to let it go for the next lucky owner to drive and enjoy....maybe you!!?

As you will see in the pics the body on this Speedster is in amazing condition. Body panel fit is fantastic and the doors on this replica open and shut like a new Porsche. Everyone who sees this car is extremely impressed with how authentic it looks. Other than a few small rock chips on the front bumper and one along the edge of the hood the body is in near flawless condition.  All of the chrome trim and stainless looks excellent. This one has the mesh headlight grille guards.  I believe these Speedsters should be driven top down as often as possible but of course it is nice to know that if needed this Speedster has a gorgeous black convertible top that goes up in minutes and fits very nicely. There are side window inserts as well. The top is in like new condition. When you have the top down you have 2 options with this car since it was ordered with the optional full tonneau cover which allows you to close the whole cabin of the car when it is parked and zip out the drivers area during your ride. Or, simply use the boot cover. But please, enjoy this baby topless as much as possible!!!

Complimenting the glistening Silver metallic exterior is an equally impressive red and black interior. This is an awesome color combination on these cars! The interior is also essentially flawless. Simplistic sophistication is the best way to describe the layout of the interior. Very comfortable and supportive Speedster bucket seats look close to new. Seat belts for both front passengers. There is a rear seat pad but I think it is more like a storage shelf than a seat. Door panels and carpeting look great. Dash is neatly laid out with all of the gauges you need to monitor the performance of this air cooled 1600 cc dual carb engine. All of the gauges, lights, turn signals etc are working correctly. Nardi styled woodgrain steering wheel with Porsche emblem horn button looks great. The original owner was 6 ft 2 so he asked them to extend the steering column 1 1/2 inches which allowed him to be more comfortable with his long legs. Great for taller drivers and still great positioning for any sized driver. Brand new  set of Black/Red Coco mats finish out the interior beautifully.

I have owned over 20 used Vintage Speedsters so I knew what to expect when it this one arrived. However, I when I got my first one I have to admit I was a little skeptical about how much fun it would be to drive. Well, after driving that first one I was immediately a fan and this one, with just over 5100 miles on it drives just as good as the first one. If you ask me if the car is fast I will be honest and tell you no it is not. If you ask me if it is fun to drive I will enthusiastically say absolutely yes!!! These cars have a serious fun factor unlike anything else. The 1600 cc dual carb air cooled engine is nice and peppy and cruises along at highway speeds with no problem. A complete tune up with new plugs was  just done. This particular car also has the upgraded 3.88 Freeway flyer transmission allowing you to cruise along at 70 mph on the highway.  The car has a nice tone from the tri-mil dual exhaust and you can hear it running in the video that follows. This little speedster also handles really well with front sway bar, adjustable front suspension, adjustable rear swing plates, and close to new set of rubber on a beautiful set of chrome wheels with the Porsche emblem hub caps. Braking is a breeze with the upgraded front disc brake option this one has. Maintenance is cheap and easy on this car and any foreign car mechanics should be able to do a valve adjustment and tune up every 3-4,000 miles to keep it running great The undercarriage looks great and engine bay is also nice and clean as you would expect.. This one has a spare tire mounted in the carpeted front trunk area so go ahead and take that weekend trip to the mountains or the beach, it will be a ride to remember but make sure you leave a little extra time for all the questions and thumbs up you will get along the way. There is nothing this car needs but you in the drivers seat!! It is Titled as a 1968 VW which makes it easy to register and insure.

Be sure to watch the video that follows to hear it start up and running. It is the second picture that you can click on the arrow to play the video.
