Coupe finished in its correct original combination of Burgundy over
a black German vinyl interior. Ready for sporting usage, this S
delights on a twisting back road and looks the part with its
driving lights and Heuer "Rallye Master" timekeeping set.
This 911S is a completely-numbers-matching example that underwent
preparation at CPR Classic in 2012. It sold to a collector in Texas
who kept the car for the next eight years. During its Texas
ownership, the car was regularly maintained by Moorespeed of
Austin, Texas, to ensure it remained in peak running condition.
Upon the car's return to CPR in January of 2020, it was evident
that Moorespeed's service was outstanding.
Nicely optioned, this Porsche features both lower fog lights and
through-the-horn-grill driving lights that give the car a superb
rally-style aesthetic. The car's brightwork is in beautiful shape
throughout, and the fit and finish of all exterior components are
excellent. The paint presents well, with some patina of
enthusiastic driving, but is overall crisp and show-worthy.
The Texas owner had installed Avon CR6ZZ road-legal vintage racing
tires for more grip and a period look. They offer a slightly
stiffer ride but look the business. The slightly-lowered suspension
maintains compliance for longer drives while being eager to be
tossed into corners.
The 2.2L S engine is an absolute gem, exhibiting the free-revving
capability that makes the short-stroke cars magical. It has
benefited from frequent exercise and is simply a joy.
Inside, one's eyes immediately settle on an exceedingly rare set of
Heuer stopwatches known as the "Rallye Master" set. The combination
of the Heuer "Master Time" and the three-button Heuer "Monte Carlo"
timer make up this sought-after pair. The car delivers with the
stopwatches, or they can be removed from the vehicle at a price
reduction. The seats are in excellent shape. The seat belts are
original, with the delivery tags. The dashboard is in exceptional
condition, with no cracks or creases, and the knee bolsters show
equal signs of careful conservation.
