1929 Ford Model A Coupe After dominating the automotive market for nearly 20 years, production of the Ford Model T ended in 1927. The successor, dubbed Model A, offered a longer wheelbase, along with a higher beltline, and reflected the Lincoln styling influence. The engine was enlarged to 200.5 cubic inches, and its output was increased to 40 horsepower, but Henry Ford’s cherished mechanical brake system continued. The Model A also marked Ford’s first efforts to make its cars easier to drive, with simpler brake and clutch pedals, throttle and gearshift, in line with the industry standard of the time. Priced from $385, the Model A represented an excellent value, and the public quickly embraced it. When production ended in March of 1932, a staggering 4,849,340 Model A's of all styles were built. This immaculately restored 1929 Ford Model A was the recipient of a full and correct frame-off rotisserie restoration by marque experts. Finished in stunning Vagabond green with a dark green belt line, pinstriped along the outer beltline in gold, black fenders and running boards as well as black wire wheels. The Model A displays a sun visor, a long grain vinyl roof and a side mounted spare tire complement the handsome exterior. In addition, the car features black painted wire wheels with chrome hubs, beautifully finished chrome and brightwork, rear mounted luggage rack, rumble seat finished in period brown upholstery, and an elegant chrome moto-meter. The restored interior displays well-fitted brown cloth upholstery, along with new black rubber floor mat. The engine bay, engine and undercarriage are also immaculate, detailed to period correct standards. Impressively restored to period correct standards, this 1929 Ford Model A Coupe represents a milestone of automotive history. Part of the Crevier Classic Car collection since late 2010.
