I purchased this 1956 T-Bird from the son of a gentleman who owned
it for the last 37 years. The roadster is loaded with options and
unbelievably they work, (even the air conditioning). This car runs
and drives amazing.
EXTERIOR: Has old paint that still looks good from 20 feet. There
are chips and cracks in the paint that have been touched up. The
finish is very old and should be repainted. The front chrome bumper
shows well but the rear bumper has chrome peeling. The body lines
are good. The bright work appears to be all original. The porthole
hardtop is in beautiful condition, the canvas soft top is in fair
condition. The T-Bird also has a factory continental kit. The car
has older wide white wall tires that show little wear. This is a
fun cruise night car as it is or restore it and have a show
car.
INTERIOR: Looking at the interior, it's obvious it has been
restored at some point. The dash is clean with no cracks. The seat
upholstery, door panels and carpeting look like new. This is a
highly optioned bird, it has: Floor Shift Automatic Transmission,
Power Steering, Power Brakes, Power Windows, Power Seat, AM/FM
Radio and Air Conditioning (that blows ice cold). The dash and
interior lights all work.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: It is ultra clean. The engine still has its
original teapot carburetor, air cleaner assembly and original
Thunderbird valve covers. There is also an auxiliary electric fan
to improve cooling and a newer air conditioning compressor.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: The original trunk pan is rock solid with no
signs of rust. The mat appears to be the original and is good
condition.
UNDERCARRIAGE: The floor pans are original with no soft spots and
evidence of one patch. The frame and body mounts are also solid as
a rock. This Thunderbird has just had a complete service and safety
inspection. The brakes have also just been gone through. This 1956
Thunderbird runs and drives excellent. Are you looking for a two
