power steering, brakes and much more! Recent $35,000
restoration.
EXTERIOR: Very fresh restoration. The body is very clean and
straight. There's no rust or damage. The paint is buffed to a very
smooth glossy finish. It appears that just about every piece of
exterior chrome and trim has been replaced. The bumpers, hood
scoop, door handles, emblems have been replaced. The grill and
stainless trim looks new. Taillights are new. The moldings around
the windshield have been polished. Has tinted glass. There are some
minor wiper marks in the upper corner of the windshield. Has
correct antenna. The porthole removable hardtop has been restored
at the same time. It's painted like the car, new headliner and
weatherstrip gaskets. The black convertible top is new. It is a
factory framework, not the cheap reproduction. It has a new black
convertible and new weather strips. Brand new chrome wire wheels
with spinners sparkle like diamonds. New radial whitewall tires
too. Weather strips around the doors and fuzzy window seals have
been replaced.
INTERIOR: Also freshly restored. New cushions in the seat, new
correct upholstery with the Thunderbird logo embossed in the
middle. It all fits real nice and tight. The vinyl divider behind
the seat is new. New carpet, sill plates and reproduction floor
mats. New dash pad and it's installed properly. New visors. All new
door panels. Reproduction steering wheel, slightly smaller for
easier in and out. The instrument area is very nice, the knobs,
bezels, gauges are clean. Has a retro stereo fit right into the
factory hole.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: The engine compartment is restored. It features
factory power steering, power brakes and the engine dress up kit
which includes a chrome air cleaner, oil breather and finned
aluminum valve covers. Detailed with Ford hoses, clamps and
windshield washer bag. Correct glass fuel filter, upgraded with a
Holley 4-barrel carburetor. The 312 motor was recently rebuilt
according to the previous and our inspection supports that. It runs
smooth.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Rock solid original metal painted white and it
has a complete gray and white liner kit. There is an accessory
carpet mat over that with sewn edges. Also has a radial whitewall
for a spare and includes the jack. Weatherstrip has been
replaced.
UNDERSIDE: The front end looks like it has been gone through. I see
new bushings, shocks, power steering hoses. Bottom of the motor is
fresh. Has clean paint, clean freeze plugs, starter looks new.
Automatic trans looks fresh. Dual exhaust goes through the rear
bumper. Rear shocks and springs look new. The metal does look
solid. Frame isn't pitted.
This bird if full of desirable accessories and has recently been
restored. It's a sharp looker!
