This beautiful muscle car was my late husband's first car. He purchased it in 1976 and is the second owner and never sold it. He took very good care of it: it was always garaged and covered. Over time he drove it less but always meant to refurbish it; however family and work took precedence. In 2010, he was diagnosed with cancer, and over the following six years was in and out of therapy.
I thought of refurbishing it for him as a surprise, but was so busy and worried it remained just a dream. He passed away in 2016 at the age of 55 and left behind our daughter (14 years old at the time) and son. I promised myself that I would get his '69 Chevelle refurbished the way he would have wanted it, and two years ago I did it. I hired a family friend near Reno, NV who drove down to San Jose, CA, put it on a trailer, and for the next year, painstakingly put countless hours into returning it to the amazing car that it was meant to be. The final product is a beautiful car that my husband would be thrilled with and proud of.
