Are you looking for a super sleek, ultra classic sports car for 2020? Look no further. This 1957 Ford Thunderbird will have you shifting through the gears with the wind in your hair!
This car is outfitted with its original 312 engine rated at 245 horses and you will be pleased to see how easy her 3 speed transmission shifts.
In specifics this vehicle was well maintained and loved by its owners. Engine was rebuilt in the '80s, and about 7 years ago the block was professionally boiled out. To this day it still maintains strong oil pressure.
The paint surprisingly makes the car stand out in a crowd compared to all the other restored birds. Black lacquer was applied in the '70s, and the paint shines very well however with it being old lacquer it is showing crazing and cracking (as pictured). This is a feature that actually most love about the car as it shows its character and tells a story yet to be heard.
Interior is not entirely originally but blends well with the dash filled with aluminum brightwork. The dash-pad is original to the car, is very firm and has no issues keeping its shape. Dash is outfitted with the original town and country radio. Gauges were replaced in the '60s minus the speedometer, with Stewart Warners. This includes a motor minder gauge, as well as oil pressure, water temp, fuel, and amps. Door panels appear to be done in the 70's around when the paint was applied. The original bench seat as been re-upholstered with new foam and original tuxedo vinyl.
This car was owned currently for the last 7 years and there has been several items refreshed:
Now is your time to own a car that defined the 1950's automotive scene. This car is in good working condition as well as mechanically sound, but with some extra TLC could make this car create lasting memories for another 63 years. As part of the project, I drove a 1915 Ford Model T, a 1963 Chevrolet “split-window” Corvette, a 1960 Porsche […]

“Hi! My name is Thelma…” is how the advertisement for the Pick of the Day begins. The car is a 1966 Ford Thunderbird convertible and the advertisement, placed with ClassicCars.com by the private seller in Palmyra, Indiana, is creative, allowing “Thelma” to tell her own story. Obviously, this red T’bird is named Thelma because of […]

The GMC Jimmy (aka Chevrolet S10 Blazer) is a longtime favorite in the 2-door version, much more so than the Ford Bronco II of the same era that has turned, inexplicably, into a popular and pricey collector car. Jimmy’s clean and simple styling is quite appealing, and don’t you just love a vehicle with an […]
