This numbers matching 1963 Triumph TR4 is in very good condition.
The original 2,138cc OHV Inline 4-cylinder engine runs great with
power distributed through a factory 4-speed manual transmission
with overdrive. The front disc and rear drum brakes bring it to a
quick stop. This Triumph came stock with a factory Surrey top. This
TR4 has been a contender and winner in multiple concours shows and
is backed by a British Motor Industry Heritage Trust - Certified
Copy of a Factory Record.
This car went through a frame off restoration in 2008. The frame
was checked for alignment, dipped, and repainted. All body panels
were primed and repainted in red using proper Glasurit materials.
The black interior was redone using re-padded leather seats with
white pipping, new black carpeting, a period correct aftermarket
wood-rim steering wheel, the original refinished wood dash and
original switches and gauges. A new black Surrey soft top is also
included.
The engine has been completely rebuilt with .040-over liners and
pistons with hardened valve seals to permit use of modern unleaded
gasoline. The crankshaft bearings and main rod bearings were
renewed and a new timing chain fitted. Other mechanical parts
including the oil pump, water pump, distributor, starter,
generator, and radiator were rebuilt or replaced during this
restoration. The flywheel was resurfaced and a new clutch
installed. A stainless-steel Flacon exhaust was added and the
original fuel tank restored.
This 1963 Triumph TR4 is ready for high-end car shows, local
cruises, or a long summer tour. If you would like to learn more
