1976 MG Midget - MG Enthusiast Long Term Ownership - Great

website: Garage Kept Motors.) The Midget was originally advertised
as a small, fuel efficient car but for most car enthusiasts just
the sound of those words to describe a car makes it sounds boring
and unappealing. The Midget however is different. Styling very
similar to the MG B roadsters that were in showrooms which were
well received at the time, meant that a car with familiar styling
in a smaller package had a good chance of success. This particular
Midget was enthusiast owned for approximately 20 years and comes
with a bunch of MG literature including a well used Haynes Repair
Manual. The car is in great condition overall and runs and drives
as expected. These cars are great fun to drive with the top down,
although being stuck on a highway with big rigs can be unnerving.
As a Midget produced later in the line this car has the rubber
bumpers, again like the MG B. This gave the car a slightly
different look than the earlier chrome bumper Midgets. The bumpers
on this Midget are in great condition and are not terribly faded,
sagging, dented, or cracked. All trim on the outside of the car is
present and in great condition. The paint is older paint and does
show some age, and a few water spots, although it is glossy and
even in color. Inside the car the vinyl upholstered bucket seats
are in great condition and provide a comfortable driving position.
The familiar dash layout of the MG B is found in this Midget, with
a 3 spoke steering wheel and shifter close at hand. The interior is
tidy with only a couple hidden aftermarket speakers being the only
big change from the original specs. The Midget is fuel efficient,
but most importantly it is a fun collector car from MG. Midget's
are great fun to drive - put the top down and it feels as though
you're driving an oversized go-kart. To find an MG like this which
was owned by an MG enthusiast for approximately 20 years and was
very well kept are great things to hear about a car like this.
Another piece of good news is that it's a small car that won't take
up a lot of space in the garage! Be sure to check out all the
